Hi doctor,
I am experiencing a swelling in the posterior teeth and I do not have any wisdom teeth. I got a injury inside my mouth near that region and it resulted in severe pain and it became worse the following day. Please help me get relief.

The present condition explained by you is indicating towards injury to gums that resulted in soreness. There is presence of inflammation of the gums in the posterior tooth region, which is known as pericoronitis. These symptoms may also arise at the time of eruption of the third molar. I would advise you to get a full mouth X-ay done known as OPG (orthopantomogram). Anti inflammatory medicines can be taken for three days. You must follow these preventive measures -
