How to handle an aggressive young child who particularly hates his father?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My son is very young but aggressive. He harasses his teacher, brother, and even parents to either harm them or himself. He is attached to me. He has no friends, and at home, he is always in his room completely anti-social. I know he is very young, but I am concerned. Do I need to worry?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern. It seems that since childhood, there have been some incidents that had an impact on his growing mind. He has this hidden hatred or disregard for everyone else except you. So, I suggest you take your child to a good psychiatrist so that his behavior pattern can be analyzed. These things, if unaddressed, may lead to serious personality problems in the future. I also suggest you ask him why he hates his father so much. Just let him speak, listen to him carefully. I suggest you divert his mind and engage him in more productive and satisfying activities. Appreciate him a lot when he does something good.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.
