Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am facing constant tiredness, fatigue, lack of energy and weakness. I had left the non-vegetarian diet for a year or two. But now I am consuming it. I have recently treated for allergies and had a phase of amoebiasis. I had to consume outside food for about two months recently due to relocation. Please suggest something. I have done a urine and blood test yesterday.

There was a lot of over exertion due to relocation for the past two months.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have seen your reports. (attachment removed to protect patient identity).

Your urine and blood report are normal except for the presence of ketone bodies in urine which is usually absent in urine. The reason for that usually are diabetes ketoacidosis, starvation ketoacidosis, etc. Check your random blood sugar level to rule out diabetes.

The increased metabolic activity also can also lead to the appearance of ketone bodies in urine. So check hyperthyroidism also by serum TSH (thyroid-stimulation hormone) estimation which also can lead to weakness. For weakness, anemia and liver doses has been ruled out here through reports.

Check for serum urea and creatinine to rule out kidney disease. If you are drinking alcohol then provide history about that. And finally, you can check serum sodium, potassium and calcium levels as well. If all these are normal then over exertion due to the relocation can be the possibility for your tiredness. For amoebiasis, get treated by Metronidazole.

I hope this helps.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I have never consumed alcohol in my whole life neither have smoked a cigarette. Recently being treated by a doctor for allergy and amoebiasis with medicines namely Allegra 180 mg, Azithromycin 500 mg, Metrogyl 400 mg, and Pantop 40 mg. Prior night of the blood test, I had consumed all these medicines and still, I am consuming the medicines. All of a sudden, after so many days I am feeling better now.

Can you suggest the name of tests to be carried out?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

The prescribed medications are right for allergy and amoebiasis infection. It has to be taken only for a prescribed duration. The following tests can be carried out:

1. Serum TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone).

2. Serum sodium, pottasium, and calcium.

3. Serum fasting blood sugar.

4. Serum urea, and creatinine.

Overexertion, lack of sleep, anxiety, etc., also can lead to tiredness. So take enough eight hour sleep if you are taking less sleep. So you can investigate with above-mentioned report for primary workup. You can provide me reports for giving comments on that.

I hope your concern is solved.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
