Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My daughter who is 14 years old have pimples all over her face and aside from that, she also has ringworm (I think) in her body. It looks like a red patch which is scaly and it grows bigger overtime. Her back, arms, and legs are the most affected area. I would like to know how can we treat it and what medicines may help?
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Pimples are common after puberty in teenagers. But treatment should be taken for pimples as they may cause scarring and leave black spots. I would like to know whether she has only blackhead and whiteheads or does she have painful red and yellow pimples also, as treatment depends on type of these pimples. If she has painful red pimples also then we need to give her very short course of antibiotics to because these red pimples can leave scars and scars that are difficult to treat. Coming to ringworm infection. First of all, I would request to stop over the fungal ointment that you got from shop as it may contain steroid also.
