Hi doctor,

I am experiencing penis irritation, swelling, redness, and the skin feels soft. I am also noticing some swelling and a couple of small pimples on my penis.

Kindly help.

Hi,

We welcome you to icliniq family.

I appreciate the confidence you place in me for your healthcare consultation.

I can understand your concern

Please share a picture of the affected area. If there was unprotected sex, one needs to consider sexually transmitted infections, for which the following tests are recommended:

  1. TPHA (Treponema Pallidum Hemagglutination Assay).
  2. HPV (human papillomavirus) DNA ?(deoxyribonucleic acid) PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test.
  3. Herpes simplex virus (HSV) one and two immunoglobulin G (IgG).
  4. Herpes simplex virus (HSV) one and two immunoglobulin M (IgM) in serum.
  5. Chlamydia trachomatis IgG.
  6. HIV one and two antibodies, screening test
  7. HbsAg (hepatitis B surface antigen).
  8. Urine complete.

If not, it could be a simple bacterial infection. You can use T Bact (Mupirocin) ointment for local application and Doxy (Doxycycline) 100 mg twice a day for five days. If there is itching, you need to consider a fungal infection. You can use Candid B ointment for local application and for itching, take tablet cetzin (Cetirizine) once a night. Make sure you wash your genitalia twice a day, in the morning and at night, using normal water (not cold or hot). Avoid using heavily scented or high pH soap.

I hope this has helped you. Please feel free to reach me again, in case of further queries.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you again for your time; I greatly appreciate it.

No, I have not had sex with anyone. Please send me a prescription, sir, for what I need to use.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I have reviewed the attached image (attachment removed to protect the patient’s identity).

If there is itching, you need to consider it as a fungal infection. You should start using Candid B (Clotrimazole and Beclometasone) ointment for local application twice a day and take tablet cetzin (Cetirizine) once a night after food for five days. Was there any history of unprotected sex?

Looking forward to your response in order to help you.

Thank you.
