What are the chances of pregnancy if precum comes in contact with the clitoris?

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had sex with my girlfriend twice with full protection. I washed in between but am afraid that I did not wash properly the second time. After one hour, I was sexually aroused again and I squeezed my penis, and a drop of precum was on my finger then I touched her clitoris and vagina from outside to excite her. I stopped because I was afraid that my precum could get her pregnant. Could this cause pregnancy?

My girlfriend had a Depo-Provera injection eight months back and after four months, she was supposed to repeat the second shot, but she did not as she had irregular bleeding. She also had irregular bleeding after we had sex. She does not know if this is a period bleeding or not. Also, she does not know if she was ovulating or not.

My question is, if she still has discharges and bleeding, does that mean she is not pregnant? Or may this be implantation bleeding?

I made her take a pregnancy test eight days after sex and it was negative, but they say testing after 10 to 14 days is more accurate if she does not know her cycle. Shall I make her take the test again today as today is the 10th day or around the 14th day? Please advise.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

  1. The chance of pregnancy is less considering you touched only the outer part, not the inside. Semen cannot travel from our hands to the inside of the vagina and then swim into the uterus. Also, the quality of semen will be very bad since you had multiple ejaculations. Since she is bleeding, it is very hard for the egg to be fixed in the uterus.
  2. Since she has been bleeding for a long, no need to worry about implantation.
  3. Since she has an irregular period and continues bleeding, the test is going to be negative. But you can recheck after 20 days with a blood beta HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) test to confirm.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you so much for the reply.

Are you advising there is no need for any pregnancy test on the 12th or 13th day? We do not have the blood beta HCG test here in the country.

Answered by Dr. Raveendran S R

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Without beta HCG or an ultrasound abdomen, I cannot say there is no pregnancy 100 percent. But according to your explanation, there is no pregnancy for 99 percent. If beta HCG is not available, then you can do an ultrasound pelvis scan.

Thank you.
