Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 30-year-old female suffering from some close to diabetic levels. I usually started to get a full-body check-up after pregnancy. My fasting blood glucose is pointed to 120 mg/dl. Can I reverse my diabetes doctor? My mother-in-law suggested with ketogenic diet as it has been proven to reverse or maintain diabetic levels. Can I follow that, or what is your opinion on my health condition? Do I need to start taking medications, or could it be reversed with diet and exercise? If yes, give me some health tips to follow.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The ketogenic diet is extreme. I suggest you follow a diabetic diet. Avoid sweets and extra sugar, exercises regularly, and monitor blood sugar weekly. If you cannot control blood sugar levels, then you should start anti-diabetic medications.

Thank you,
