Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I had unprotected sex, but I consumed I-pill in the evening. I also got a tetanus injection after a few days and was traveling. Now, my periods are delayed, and when I did the pregnancy test, it came positive. What should I do?
Please guide.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I went through your query and understood your concern.
Per your pregnancy kit report, it seems you are pregnant. Still, as the line is faint, I suggest you do a blood beta-hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) level test for further confirmation. As you took I-pill (Levonorgestrel) on time, chances are really low, but a test is required to confirm the same. Withdrawal bleeding is only a side effect of the I-pill. It happens due to the sudden withdrawal of hormones from your body. So it does not necessarily happen to everyone. You may have menstrual irregularities in your case, which could be due to hormonal imbalance caused by an I-pill.
I hope this has helped you.
Thanks and regards.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thanks for your reply.
I will go for this test as soon as possible. Also, I am feeling on-and-off cramps as well.
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I suggest you take medicine for the same. It is due to hormonal changes.
Kindly consult a specialist, talk with them, and take medicines with their consent.
I hope this has helped you.
Thanks and regards.
