Hi doctor,
I am 38 years old. I did not get my period last month. After 15 days of a missed period, my beta hCG value is 5.73 mIU/mL. What is the chance of pregnancy? Do I have any issues? Please guide me.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understand your concern.
As you can see, the normal beta hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) level is less than 5 mIU/mL. So, you should wait for two days and repeat the test. You should do an ultrasound pelvis, but after the beta hCG report is available. Revert after two days with the report to an obstetrician and gynecologist.
Hope this helps.
Kind regards.
Hi doctor,
Thanks for the reply.
I had done the test two times. Initially, it was 5.73 mIU/mL, and now, 5.26 mIU/mL. Please advise.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
I understand that you have done the test twice already, but both reports show values of more than 5 mIU/mL. As long as this value becomes negative or strongly positive, the test has to be repeated. For further information, consult an obstetrician and gynecologist.
Hope this has addressed your concern.
Kind regards.
Hello doctor,
Thanks for the reply.
I am taking an Evecare tablet. Does this tablet cause any complications, that is, my hCG changing from 5.73 to 5.26 5 mIU/mL? Waiting for your reply.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Sorry, I do not have any idea regarding the product, its effects, and its side effects. So I can not comment.
Hope this helps.
Kind regards.
Hello doctor,
My beta hCG is still around 5.3 mIU/mL. My doctor says this is a negative sign, but I want to know if there are any other reasons behind beta hCG being above 5 mIU/mL. Please check my TVS report. All are normal, but there is a nabothian cyst. Waiting for your reply.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
We take less than 5 mIU/mL as the normal value for beta hCG. Different diagnostic centers may have different reference values. Regarding your TVS (transvaginal ultrasound scan) report (attachments are hidden to protect the patient's identity), you do not have to worry about the nabothian cyst.
Hope this has addressed your concern.
Kind regards.
Hello doctor,
Thanks for the reply.
Today my beta HCG is in the normal range of 3.87 mIU/mL. I want to know why my beta hCG has risen this time and also why there is a faint line in the home pregnancy kit. Has fertilization occurred? My gynecologist does not give a satisfactory answer. Please reply.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Home kit sometime gives a false positive result. Beta hCG levels of 3.87 mIU/mL are negative for pregnancy, and you are absolutely fine. So do not worry.
Follow back for further queries.
Kind regards.
Hello doctor,
Thanks for the insight.
As we previously discussed, my beta hCG was 5.73 mIU/mL at that time. That is why I am asking the reason. Please answer.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Each laboratory uses a different technique to measure this hormone, and they have a different range of normal values. Therefore, it is very difficult to determine if the technique used in your case follows the same reference range.
Hope this helps.
Kind regards.
