Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am currently 26 weeks pregnant, and my bottom front teeth, since becoming pregnant, have felt rough and now have a tiny bit of dark coloration at the bottom of the teeth and the front part of my gum is lifting slightly. Please help.

Thanks.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

First of all, congratulations. May god bless you both with good health. Secondly, as you mentioned, 26 weeks means you have just entered the third trimester, so no treatment is advised in the third trimester. If you are a bit late, the second trimester is safest for dental treatment. No worries, let it be till delivery, and after that, visit a dentist as soon as possible. Many dental symptoms appear during pregnancy due to medications or hormones and may fade away postpartum. So wait and watch and hope for the best. Do update us post-delivery if the symptoms remain; we will guide you likewise. Till then, kindly maintain oral hygiene, brush twice daily, and do not miss night time brushing. Massage your gums after brushing, then rinse with warm water and salt.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
