Does premature ejaculation occur due to masturbation habit?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a premature ejaculation problem. When I am doing foreplay with my girlfriend, it automatically gets ejaculated after four to five minutes. Is it due to my masturbation habit?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. I have worked through your attached query in detail. Masturbation is not responsible for your symptoms. Masturbation has no evil effects on your sex life. Premature ejaculation will gradually subside in due course of time. In case if symptoms persist, few medications like Dapoxetine will help. So, that being the case, get a prescription for premature ejaculation and start taking the medication by discussing them with your specialist. Practicing sex regularly will help to overcome premature ejaculation.
