Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been suffering from premature ejaculation for over a year now. Nowadays, I am unable to maintain sexual activity for more than one minute. Can you please suggest medication for my premature ejaculation?

Hello,

Thanks for trusting us with your health care.

There are many reasons for premature ejaculation. Some are listed below.

  1. Stressful work, such as night shifts or twenty-four-hour jobs.
  2. Medical conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and thyroid issues can affect premature ejaculation. Keeping your blood sugar, blood pressure, and thyroid hormones under control can help.
  3. Long-term use of medications for hypertension and psychiatric disorders.
  4. Frequent masturbation or prone masturbation.
  5. Excessive pornography consumption.
  6. Insufficient foreplay from a partner or lack of understanding about foreplay and female pleasure.
  7. Feelings of guilt related to having an affair.
  8. Lack of exercise and obesity.

To address these issues, you should check FBS (fasting blood sugar) or PPBS (post-prandial blood sugar) to rule out diabetes, check your blood pressure, and check free T3 (triiodothyronine), T4 (thyroxine), and TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) to rule out thyroid issues. I suggest you take tablet Duralast (Dapoxetine) 30 mg tablet as a temporary solution.

Natural methods include:

  1. Increasing foreplay duration during sex, with women receiving 15 to 20 minutes and men receiving 10 to 15 minutes for better blood supply to the penis and longer-lasting erections. Foreplay should be relaxed. Your partner should learn to provide foreplay without ejaculation.
  2. Trying relaxing music.
  3. Using delay condoms.

Remember that sex is not just about intercourse. Sex is not a race; duration does not necessarily mean your partner is happy. Love your partner, learn about female masturbation, and help your partner achieve orgasm or climax.
