Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My beard hair has started to turn white, and I am only 26 years old. How do I prevent this from happening? What are the remedies to avoid hair whitening?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. I suggest you do the following. Take Tablet Calcium Pantothenate 200 mg once a day after food for two months. Take Tablet H-Vit Forte (biotin) once daily after breakfast for 30 days. Avoid smoking. Avoid stress. Avoid the use of harsh soaps or chemicals on the beard. Keep a check on your sugar, thyroid, and blood pressure levels. Avoid junk food. Massage with coconut oil or olive oil daily. Avoid prolonged exposure to the sun. Apply petrolatum jelly at night for 20 days. Do you have an itchy beard? Do you have dandruff issues? Please give the following details.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply. I do not have an itchy beard or dandruff. I have never smoked or consumed liquor in my life. I have attached a file. Please guide me.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Reduction in melanin synthesis by pigment-producing cells melanocytes (in the root of hair follicles of the beard) occurs in premature greying of hair. Genetics and hereditary factor may also be involved. Causes involve stress, high intake of carbohydrates and sugary foods, nutritional deficiencies like iron, iodine, vitamins, and proteins, pollutants, toxins, or chemicals in the water, autoimmune disorder or certain drugs. I suggest you eat food rich in iron, vitamin B12, and protein, such as green leafy vegetables, fresh fruit juices, eggs, and dairy products. Also, avoid shampoos and soaps loaded with chemicals. Please answer the following for details. Do you consume an excess of soda and cakes? Do you have food with refined sugar? Is there a family history of autoimmune disorders?

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply. My diet does not involve excessive soda consumption, but I have had a lot of tea in the past two to three months. No history of autoimmune disorder in the family.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Avoid excess intake of tea. Have green tea instead. Get a routine blood test involving thyroid profile, blood sugar, hemoglobin profile, and serum ferritin levels. Taking Oral Calcium pantothenate 200 mg daily for two to four months is the treatment of choice, or Para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA) 100 mg daily for two to four months.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
