Why do I ejaculate within 15 to 60 seconds during sex?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 25 years old. For the past two years, I have been experiencing very early ejaculation during sexual intercourse. Most of the time, ejaculation occurs within 15 to 60 seconds. My erections are normal, and I do not have any difficulty getting or maintaining an erection.

During masturbation, I can usually last a little longer, but during intercourse, the problem occurs almost every time. I would like to know the possible causes, whether any tests are needed, and what treatment options are available.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understood your concern.

You complain that ejaculation usually occurs within 15 to 60 seconds of penetration, has been occurring consistently for the last two years, and causes concern despite otherwise normal sexual function. This pattern is consistent with premature ejaculation.

You also mention that you can last slightly longer during masturbation, which is a common observation and may reflect differences in arousal, stimulation, and performance pressure during partnered sex.

When ejaculation consistently occurs within about one minute of penetration and causes distress or difficulty controlling ejaculation, it is generally classified as premature ejaculation. Your recent blood tests are largely reassuring. The low vitamin B12 level is worth correcting for overall health, but it is unlikely to be the primary cause of your symptoms.

Since your history is otherwise typical for premature ejaculation, extensive testing is usually not required unless additional symptoms suggest hormonal, neurological, or urinary tract problems.

Dapoxetine 30 mg may be taken approximately one hour before intercourse if prescribed by your doctor, and many men find it helpful in improving ejaculatory control.

Before deciding on long-term treatment, I would like to know whether this problem started suddenly two years ago after a period of normal sexual function or whether you have always tended to ejaculate quickly since your first sexual experiences.

I hope you are satisfied with my answer. For further queries, you can consult me at iCliniq.

Thank you.
