My left eye looks smaller after an accident. Please help.

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I met with a car accident about seven days ago. I was diagnosed with a concussion and cervical fracture. But after the accident, my left eye has become smaller in size than the other. Why is that so?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Can you please upload a picture of the same? Is your vision also decreased? And is there any redness in your eye?

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

No, vision is still the same, and there is no redness in the eye too.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Mild ptosis is there because of trauma. Start doing cold compression with an ice pack three to four times a day. Start the medications which includes eye drop Ikool or Zoline Plus three times a day. Eye ointment Ocupol DX at bedtime on the lid margin. Tablet Poze SP two times a day. It will take three to four weeks to get better. Cold compresses are a must.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

So it is not permanent. It is temporary, right? Will my eye get back to normal?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, it will get back to normal. You can also start taking some multi vitamin supplements for a month to strengthen your muscles. It is normal. Nothing to worry.
