Hello doctor,
I have had an itching problem for about four to five months around the pubic area. The itching is mostly on the vulva and surrounding skin. Also, the butt cheeks skin is affected. The itching sometimes becomes so bad that I scratch it till the skin comes off. Itching increases when the area is damp. Due to this, I have got scars and black marks on the affected skin. Please help.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
It could be fungal.
You keep these precautions in mind-
1. Do not keep the area wet at all. Use powder frequently to keep it dry.
2. Avoid itching, and do not scratch it.
3. Change the undergarments.
4. Do not apply general or steroid creams like Betnovate.
5. Do not stop the medicine once you are cured. Continue medicine for a long time to completely kill the fungal.
6. Avoid excessive sweating and wet clothes.
7. Check diabetes and thyroid. It is really recurrent even after proper treatment.
Treatment -
1. Ketoconazole cream tab terbinafine 250 mg for 2 months.
2. Terbinafine cream fluconazole 150 mg twice in week for 2 months.
3. Tablet Itraconazole 200 mg once a day and cream for one months.
These are treatment combinations continue it.
