Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been feeling itching in the penile area and anal area for almost two to three months. I am taking the antibiotic Taxim-O 200. It works for a few days, and some pus cells are found in the urine test. But after some days, again, there is intense itching in the penile area, and there is also ear itching. I am already taking L Montus medicine for seven years. Now, I want a diagnosis of the cause of this. I think it is due to lower immunity, but which tests would confirm the cause? I have done HSV recently, and it gave a negative result. Symptoms become worse after ejaculation at nightfall. I have never had sex. Find attached the images of the affected area.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Itching in the penile area and around the anus could very commonly be a symptom of fungal infection. These are the moist areas of the body and tend to catch fungus quickly. Do you notice any rashes or round patches, or whitish discoloration at these places? Are you diabetic?

With regards to immunity, you could go for a complete blood picture and ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate).

Preventive measures:

  • Avoid excessive sweating.
  • Prefer loose-fitting clothes.
  • Use boxers instead of V-cut underwear.
  • Use dusting powder.

Patient's Query

Thank you, doctor,

No, I am not diabetic.

Why do I have ear itching? Is it related to penile itching? Can pus cells and fungal infection be related? Is there any tablet for increasing immunity? Which investigation should I do to confirm a fungus or allergic reaction?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Please upload appropriate images of the affected areas showing the lesions. You can get a scraping for KOH to detect the fungus.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I have already attached images. This is the best clarity I can send as my camera quality is poor.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I have gone through the images (attachment removed to protect patient identity).

Are those yellowish ones tiny blisters?

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

Yes. But, they are white ones.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Have you been treated for herpes in the past?

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Yes, I have tested but negative result.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Were you treated for it? Are these things persistent or on and off?

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

For these earlier also I had taken online consultation. No physical examination was done by any doctor. These things are from almost four to five months or may be older than that.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

In such a case, it is unlikely to be herpes. Herpes usually resolves by itself in five to seven days.

The most probable conditions could be:

  1. Milia.
  2. Sebaceous hyperplasia.
  3. Fordyce spots.

All three are benign. They are just due to increased size or activity of the oil glands or their blockage.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

How to confirm and what is the solution?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It is better to go for a direct consultation. If it is one of those, then they can be either left alone or removed using electrosurgery.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

But if I go directly to a dermatologist, would they be comfortable checking the penile area?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, dermatologists deal with such issues on an everyday basis. So, please do not hesitate.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You are most welcome.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Whenever there is acidity, the itching is getting worse. Is there any relation?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Not exactly, but all stressful conditions do cause itching to some extent.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor.

Thank you for the reply.

Any medicine for increasing immunity?

Native forte, I think, beneficial, but it is non-veg, anything for replacement?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You could try Bevon capsule (vitamin supplement) once daily for a month.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
