Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am planning to undergo a radiofrequency ablation procedure. I have lower back pain and throbbing pain in the back of my right leg. I would like to know if it is safe, effective, and has any side effects.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is a safe new procedure. It will have positive outcomes. However, to achieve better results, you must manage your weight.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

I agree that weight is a problem for many people, but this is also due to my picking up an 80-pound bag of concrete from the floorboard of a car. The lilting of this 80-pound bag was caused by the spinal sinuous, not my weight. So, I agree that losing weight would be advantageous. Also, what kind of side effects should I expect from the procedure?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

I never stated that your weight is the root cause. However, losing some weight will add to the relief. Side effects are extremely rare and do not pose a significant problem. You may have needle site pain, numbness in your leg for a few days, or a fever or back pain for one or two days. Everything will be fine in the end.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
