Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

For the last three days, I have had redness on the outer white part of my right eye. Many people pointed it out, but it caused no irritation or pain, so I thought it was due to allergies. Now the end of the third day, I have a localized aching pain that intensifies whenever I blink my eye. I noticed a small bump outside my cornea and did not know what to do. I am attaching the pictures for your reference. Kindly review.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I want to know more details about your query and the picture attached (attached images removed to protect the patient's identity). Are you noticing any discharge from your eyes or eyelids sticking with each other in the morning? It might be an infection. Is it the first episode, or do you have recurrent redness? As you have noticed a bump. It is more likely to be episcleritis. I suggest you use lubricant and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drops initially. Oral NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) may be added if it does not resolve in a few days. Consult a local ophthalmologist to differentiate between episcleritis and scleritis. Scleritis requires further blood tests for evaluation. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
