Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I am here to help you get the best medical advice.
Ringworm infection is also called tinea infection and it occurs due to multiple reasons which include genetic susceptibility, variation of pH of the skin due to hormonal fluctuations, stagnation of sweat and moisture in the affected area, and wearing tight clothes and undergarments. The other causes include lack of aeration in the area, direct contact with an infected person, and weakened immunity.
Since you have been having a ringworm infection for one year, you may have to take medications for a long time so that the infection subsides. As you have not provided the treatment details, I assume that you might have taken treatment in the past one year for the same issue. I also highly recommend that you share a clear image of the affected area so that I can assess and understand the condition better and also, it will be easy to diagnose the severity of the condition. I suggest you do the following:
- Consume a capsule of Itraconazole 200 mg after dinner daily for three weeks.
- Apply Luliconazole cream thrice daily on the affected area for 12 to 16 weeks.
- Dust the Clotrimazole (Abzorb) topical powder every two to three hours or in between cream applications on the affected area to absorb the excess moisture and sweat.
- Take a capsule of B-complex (Becosules Z) daily after dinner for two months. This will help in increasing and strengthening your immunity.
- Use Ketoconazole (KZ) soap for bathing. Lather the soap with water, apply it to the affected area, leave it for three minutes, and wash it off. Use a regular soap on the unaffected areas.
- Avoid wearing tight-fitting clothes and undergarments when at home. After taking a bath, make sure to towel dry your body (extremely dry) and let your body dry under a fan for 15 minutes.
- Do not share your belongings with another individual.
I hope this helps. Take care.
Thank you.
