Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have about 4 inches of patches of ringworms on both of my buttocks and a 3-inch patch on my vaginal area. I am using Covate GM cream for the treatment but it is not showing any results. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

If you have ringworm infection, kindly use oral and topical antifungal agents. If it is very red, mild steroid combined with an antifungal agent is to be used. You will get better after treatment.

Investigations to be done

Scraping for fungus.

Differential diagnosis

Tinea cruris.

Probable diagnosis

Tinea cruris.

Treatment plan

Tablet Terbinafine 250 mg OD. Apply topical Terbinafine ointment BD. Apply a combination of Hydrocortisone plus Clotrimazole (like Hydrozole) at night. Take antihistamine OD.

Preventive measures

Maintain hygiene of the area. Wash with soap and water. Avoid using Dettol and other irritants.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
