Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I recently recovered from COVID-19, and I still have lingering symptoms. I was exposed to a person having a COVID-19 infection two days ago. Should I be concerned about reinfection?

Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for the query.

I can understand your concern. According to your statement, you had a history of COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease-2019) infection, and you have recently been exposed to a COVID-19 infected person. As you have a history of COVID infection, your body may have antibodies against COVID infection by this time. If your body already has produced antibodies against COVID infection, you will not be affected as your immunity will fight against COVID infection. It is very difficult to predict anything. Stay calm and observe. If you feel discomfort after a few days, then go for the COVID test again. Otherwise, nothing will be needed.

Take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
