How to get rid of painless bumps on the penis?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I want to enquire about lumps on the penis, which I had since before being sexually active. It started as a big lump that grew and ended up into many tiny ones like pimples. I cannot get rid of them, and all my sexual tests are clean. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The description of pimples you mentioned seems to be sebaceous cysts, and can only be treated by surgical excision. If you have pictures of them, it will be great and easy to diagnose and decide on the best treatment for you.

Please follow up with photos.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Will they spread to others by sexual contact? Is it concerning? I think the mistake I made was to pop the bigger one like a pimple. After that, only it spread all over. If I squeeze the smaller ones, some white stuff is coming out, but it is quite painful to squeeze them. Otherwise, they are not painful or annoying in any way but just a cause of self-consciousness.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Thanks for the pictures (attachment removed to protect patient identity). Yes, those are simple, small sebaceous cysts. At this moment, no treatment is required. Just observation is required as they will resolve on their own.

Usually, one or two might grow bigger, then they will need to be removed surgically. Please do not pop them at all. Leave them alone. Those cysts will not spread by contact or anything. They are always painless.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
