Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had unprotected sex four weeks ago and observed these pink markings on my penis head, which occasionally vanish. Still, when I shower, they are practically red. Urine tests for chlamydia were negative, and there was no diarrhea, pus, itching, or discomfort; only red spots were not receding. Syphilis, HIV, and Hepatitis B are all transmitted by blood. I have reoccurring tonsillitis that is not going away after four courses of antibiotics and no oral sex throughout that period. My current prescription is Amoxicillin for ten days. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

I have reviewed the photos (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). It is good that the tests done are negative. Please go for an HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) antibody test again after 90 days of last exposure for conclusive results and to relieve anxiety. The penile rash may be due to irritation, friction, or fungal infection. There are no symptoms as per the details mentioned. Please observe for a few days. Wear loose cotton innerwear. See that there is adequate ventilation. Avoid friction or irritation. Clean the area with warm water twice daily. If it does not subside in a few days, you can try topical antifungal cream like clotrimazole (candid) cream. Please consult your doctor for further examination and management if it still does not reduce.

I hope I have answered your question.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
