Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

It seems that I have STD, maybe gonorrhea. I was exposed during my schooling when I was 15 years old. Then I started to have night emission, burning micturition, red pimple under the foreskin, and itching around genitals. I was advised by some relative to take ayurvedic medicine, but it continued. So I continuously took an ayurvedic medication of my own. I got VDRL and urine test, but due to these medicines, it was negative only. Now at 53 years of age, it is causing me a lot of problems like inflammation of the anus, burning while urinating, body pain, cramps in calves, teeth and gums infection, eyelids burning and discharge, memory loss, skin infections, warts, orange color pimples, and foul smell in sweat. Similarly, my wife also has white discharge, loss of interest in sex, depression, skin issues, etc. We have got HIV, HCV, and HBsAg test negative, urine test also negative. Please suggest the medicines, or tests if any. Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. For STIs (sexually transmitted infections), one needs to find out either the causative organism in the tests or a classical clinical finding on the examination like genital ulcers or pus discharge per urethra or blisters. If you think you have warts, kindly send a picture to be sure of the diagnosis. Also, gonorrhea is not a chronic disease. It occurs very quickly after sexual exposure and subsides soon with antibiotics. All your relevant tests are negative, so it is unlikely that you have any STIs. And looking at the vastness of your symptoms, it is not easy to reach any diagnosis without a thorough physical examination in person and extensive investigations. So I recommend you to consult at an STI clinic in a nearby medical college so that they can rule out any STIs by examination and investigations. Take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
