Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Yesterday I was jumping rope and all of a sudden my shoulder was in extreme pain. I could barely move my shoulder. I do not have any prior history of injury to the same area. I have pain in my shoulder joint, weakness, pain while moving, popping or snapping sounds in the joint, and tenderness.

It is a lot better when I woke up today but I can still feel the pain. I worry about what is wrong with my shoulder because I am an athlete and I want to avoid further injuries.

Please help me, doctor.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Because it happened while playing and considering your age, it can be shoulder subluxation due to ligamentous laxity.I suggest you take the following medicines,

  1. Tablet Ibuprofen 400 milligrams twice daily for 10 days after food.

  2. Tablet Rabeprazole 20 milligrams twice daily for 10 days before food.

  3. Tablet Shelcal (calcium and vitamin D3) 500 milligrams twice daily for 30 days before food.

Consult your physician and take the medications only after their consent. Do not take these medications if you have bronchial asthma.

Use an arm pouch and give rest to your shoulder for one to two weeks and apply ice over the shoulder twice daily.

Thank you.

Probable diagnosis

? Shoulder subluxation

Preventive measures

Regarding follow up

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
