Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I experience pulsating headaches in my temples and often feel light-headed. When I use a steamer, a thin, watery mucus discharges from my nose, and I feel relaxed after steam inhalation. Additionally, when I close my eyes, I sometimes feel a watery sensation in my ears, accompanied by ear pain. My quality of life has been severely affected for the past four years. I have undergone septoplasty for a deviated nasal septum (DNS), but I have not found relief. Occasionally, I also experience headaches in the frontal and rear parts of my head.
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understand your concern.
You are likely suffering from a sinus headache with an eustachian tube blockage. I suggest using steam inhalation three times a day for five days. You can also use Oxymetazoline nasal spray as needed and take a combination of Levocetirizine and Phenylephrine tablets. Additionally, avoid cold and carbonated drinks.
If you do not see any improvement after using these remedies, I suggest undergoing a nasal endoscopy, tympanogram, and an X-ray of the paranasal sinuses (PNS) for further evaluation. Follow up with your ENT (ear, nose, and throat) specialist for appropriate treatment.
Thank you.
