How can I reduce my skin cancer risk while working in the sun?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been appointed as a cop. I am happy, but I am in an increased state of panic. As I will be working under the sun all day, I fear skin cancer. So I have a few questions for you.

  1. Are there any tips to avoid skin cancer even though I am exposed to the sun for the whole day?
  2. What are the preventive measures to follow?
  3. Are there any home remedies to follow when I reach home?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

It can be challenging to maintain good skin when exposed to the sun most of the time. However, you can keep your skin safe by following the instructions mentioned below:

  1. I suggest you use a good sunscreen with an SPF (sun protection factor) of 50.
  2. You can use vitamin C and Niacinamide-based serums at night.

I hope this answers your question.

Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.

Take care.
