Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 59-year-old female. I have discolored patches on my hip that just recently developed. Within the last month, I have had CT stomach, routine blood work, X-ray but they all returned normal. I do have chronic stress and I have been constantly losing weight and usually go to pass stool two sometimes three times a day. The stool is usually semisolid and there is frothy pale yellow liquid in it. I am not sure what is causing this discoloration, but I am really concerned.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

There are a number of causes of pigmentation, but you have not provided a picture to look that what type of pigmentation you are having. In my opinion, send a picture or see a doctor physically. Also, inform if other sites are also involved. Causes include drugs, diabetes, malignancies, idiopathic, post inflammatory, hepatitis, etc.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Please apply 1 % Hydrocortisone cream two times a day for a week. And apply Vaseline lotion at night. Do not apply any antiseptic. Try to sleep on a soft mattress as you are having difficulty in sleeping well. It looks post an inflammatory lesion and hopefully, it will resolve within a week or so. It looks superficial in appearance.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I had forgotten to mention that this discoloration is also on my upper back, but has been there for a much longer time. My hair has also become brittle and I lose quite some hair while washing. The hair that I lose is of complete length.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Well, in my opinion, your hair loss is due to your chronic problem of anxiety, and lack of sleep is also due to stress. Moreover, you also complain of frequent passing of stool and which results in decreased absorption of nutrients. And this stool problem also gets increases due to stress. So, try to avoid stress as much as you can. As all your problem are interlinked with stress, I suggest capsule Perfectil Plus for two months. Apply coconut oil two times a week.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
