Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

After having oral intercourse and getting into contact with a foul-smelling vaginal discharge, I acquired rashes on my hands and legs.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern. The rash resembles dry eczema (attachment removed to protect the patient’s identity). How long does it take between oral sex and the appearance of rashes? The lesion, however, resembles dry eczema (a kind of allergy) and has no substantial relationship with oral intercourse. I recommend that you apply Momate f cream (Mometasone furoate) twice a day for one week. Also, because you had oral sex, I recommend that you get an STD (sexually transmitted disease) profile.

Revert with the answer to assist further.

Thank you and take care.

Regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am including a couple more images for your convenience.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern. I have seen the attached pictures (attachment removed to protect the patient’s identity). This is also not an STD because it is a white scaly rash caused by dryness. Furthermore, no STD manifests itself without oral or genital symptoms. That is why a time difference between intercourse and the beginning of the rash is essential to reach a conclusion.

I hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.

Regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I cannot recall the exact date, but it was probably within two or three weeks. I used to have oral sex, but after the rash appeared, I stopped having oral sex until now. The first rash appeared on my feet, which was painful, and the second appeared on my wrist, which was not painful, but both of them subside after a few weeks now. After that, two small rashes appeared on my palm with a whitish top, which was not painful, and they disappeared one by one over time. I am adding a couple more rash images that are currently available.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

As you state, the time gap is merely two to three weeks. The only thing that has to be checked out is secondary syphilis, which might appear like the one on the sides of fingers but is quite rare. However, just to be on the safe side, I recommend you get a VDRL (venereal disease research laboratory test) and a TPHA (treponema pallidum hemagglutination test) done and follow up with reports.

I hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.

Regards.
