Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Since I can remember, I frequently get painful skin spots. Although I do not have severe acne, the fact that the few spots I do have are so noticeable and I constantly have to deal with new ones impacts my confidence. Even though my skin is perpetually greasy, I try to take good care of it by washing it twice daily with micellar water for sensitive skin and moisturizing it with a mattifying cream. I consume a lot of water and eat a balanced diet. In the end, I am unsure how to heal my skin because nothing seems to work, and as a last resort, I am wearing a lot of makeup right now, which will not help. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Have you taken oral medications for acne in the past? If you have active acne, then you should consider the same after blood investigations. You can view a procedure like peels that helps reduce active acne and acne pigmentation. Apply Clindamycin and Adapalene combination gel at bedtime over acne. Use a face wash containing salicylic acid twice a day. If there is dryness, apply Cetaphil DAM (hydrating lotion) moisturizer. Have a good intake of vitamin C.

Thank you and take care.
