Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 22-year-old female medical student seeking some advice on a common sleeping habit I have. I have it, for as long as I can remember, been sleeping with a blanket over my head, the thick kind, and I almost always get up with a headache. I have recently come across a study linking this pattern of sleep habit with dementia in 23 % of the subjects. I am completely scared at the moment about the long-term outcomes of this habit. Is the damage done by now even reversible? Are there tests for early diagnosis or am I just panicking? Kindly suggest.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
There is this saying that you should remember. When you are worried about your memory, especially being in the medical field it is not the problem. But when your family members are worried about your memory it is the real problem. So for now take the test, and reduce your anxiety level. Do not predict based on your sleep pattern. Nothing is definitive. However, you should evaluate the headache part for sinusitis, snoring, or any other possibilities. I hope this helps you.
Thank you.
