Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 25 years old and have had anxiety and shyness for the last seven years. I am afraid of talking to a group of people and in other public places. I feel shy in talking to girls. I do not know why I get emotional every time. Can you please suggest some medications for the same?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your situation. You might have a social anxiety disorder, and non-pharmacological treatment options are available. I suggest you do exercises daily for 30 to 45 minutes and go out for a walk. If possible, join the gym or go swimming as it will help boost your confidence. You should do meditation for 20 minutes daily. Just sit comfortably in one place and concentrate on your normal breathing, Do not force yourself to stop your thoughts, and relax. You should eat healthy and home-cooked foods and avoid junk foods. You must drink enough water and spend quality time with friends and family daily. Get in touch with them through video calls if you live away from them. You can read good books, write journals, paint, draw something, and learn new skills or language. You should take seven to eight hours of sleep daily and avoid tobacco, alcohol, or other substance abuse. Be bold and confident, and do not be afraid of anyone. You must try to talk with a new person daily. If your symptoms persist after following the advice for four to six weeks, you might need to start medications.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor for the reply,

I walk daily for 25 to 30 minutes, and I eat only home-cooked food. I also spent time with friends, but nothing worked. So, I asked about the medications. Can you please suggest short-term medications?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I suggest you take a mouth dissolving tablet Clonazepam 0.25 mg before talking or performing and tablet Escitalopram 10 mg daily in the morning after breakfast for six months.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor for the reply,

I request you to share the tablet in the form of a prescription because it is impossible to get the tablets without a prescription.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I can only suggest or guide you, but I cannot prescribe you a medication.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
