Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I feel like something is stuck at the back of my throat, and I have continuous cough. It might not be anything, but I do not know. Sometimes when I blow my nose, blood comes out. What could be the problem? Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your query and have specific questions for the same: 1. Is there any change in voice? 2. Do you have any difficulty or block while swallowing food or liquids? 3. Any pain while swallowing? 4. Do you smoke or drink? 5. Are you having a cough now, also? 6. Is it dry or with phlegm? 7. Do you have any wheezing or abnormal breathing sounds? Sometimes after an infection of the upper airways, some edema or inflammation may remain in the laryngeal area. This resolves slowly. But we need to be sure of it. Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

There is a slight change in the voice, but not like a new voice. Just a bit of vibration or monotone due to my throat, like a familiar sick voice. There is no difficulty swallowing food or drink. The pain was there during the sore throat, but not now. No, I do not smoke or drink. I still have a cough that is a little dry, but there is phlegm every once in a while. No abnormal breathing sounds, but it is impossible to make a high pitch sound, and one can hear me struggle. Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to iclinq.com.

It is most likely laryngitis following the infection you had. It would help if you took some anti-inflammatory measures. My advice: Consult your specialist doctor, talk with them and take medications with their consent. 1. Anti-inflammatory medicines - Trypsin-Chymotrypsin tablet taken twice daily before meals for five days. 2. Antacids - Pantoprazole 40 mg, one tablet twice daily before meals for ten days 3. Antiallergics - Desloratadine 5 mg once in the evening daily for ten days 4. Cough medication - Syrup Levocloperastine Fendizoate two teaspoons twice or thrice daily for five days. 5. Dextromethorphan lozenges, a few times daily for five days. Along with the medications, follow these instructions: 1. Voice rest. 2. Steam inhalation. 3. Avoid spicy, oily foods. 4. Avoid smoke, dust, and pollution. 5. Take plenty of warm water or fluids or soups. 6. Keep yourself warm. 7. Avoid direct exposure to cold air. You will be fine in two to three days. However, it is pretty common after infection and will resolve with these supportive measures. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
