Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My menstrual period had ended 17 days ago. I had intercourse two days ago and took a tablet Plan B the same day. According to my calculation, that would be the eighteenth or nineteenth day. But, I have noticed a spotting that looks like implantation bleeding but I am not on my period. Is it due to the tablet Plan B? I have heartburn and odd spotting. I got the bleach pregnancy test and urine test done and it got blurred. I am worried that I could be pregnant. I have heartburn and odd spotting. I took a medication today that is tablet Naproxen because it was written on the internet that it can prevent pregnancy.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern. The time frame you had unprotected sexual intercourse is very less likely to result in pregnancy. Although there is always a risk no matter it is the safe time frame people call. You said you took tablet Plan B (Levonorgestrel) in time. It should prevent any unwanted pregnancy. The spotting might or might not be related to the tablet. If you still have a doubt, it is better to wait for another week or two before taking the pregnancy test. The spotting should stop and if you notice any active bleeding for more than two to three days then consult a gynecologist as soon as possible. Also, do not take any medicine without consulting with your gynecologist to avoid any complications associated with the medicine when taken without a doctor’s advice. Hope this helps. Feel free to contact for any further query in the future.
