Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My three ribs were broken due to falling down the apartment stairs. During the past two months moderate to severe lingering pain has been felt in the area where the injury occurred. I went to the family doctor, had some tests done, and end result shows that the ribs never fully healed, hence surgery may be required to help with the problem. Currently, I am taking the following medications: Lamictal, Lyrica, Vimpat, Fycompa, and Ativan. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Ribs usually take three months to heal, so I suggest you either wait for some more time or you can send me your current X-ray so that I can see and advise you accordingly. Till then I feel you should just use a rib belt all day and night, and take it out only during the shower. You can also take the tablet Ibuprofen 400 mg at night for five days after food. Get back to me with your X-ray.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
