Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 28-year-old woman who is getting married in a week, but I am stressed out and sad because of family concerns. I have heard of a depression drug called Rexulti. Can you tell me more about how Rexulti helps to treat depression? What are the most frequent side effects, and how long does it generally take to notice them? Are there any particular concerns for someone who is preparing to marry? How might Rexulti assist with stress and depression management at such a crucial life event?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. However, thinking about it will not assist you. It is not a first-line treatment for depression or stressful conditions. It is beneficial when used along with another medication. There are better solutions for your issue. You can start taking the tablet Escitalopram (selective serotonin inhibitors) (10 mg) every day after breakfast and Clonazepam (benzodiazepines) (mouth-dissolving 0.25 mg) when you are anxious. If you have trouble sleeping, you can take the tablet Clonazepam at night to deal with your depression. I suggest you also adopt the following lifestyle, as it will be beneficial for you:

  1. Practice exercising for 30 to 45 minutes every day, such as going for a walk.

  2. Practice meditation for 20 minutes every day; simply sit in one comfortable position and attempt to concentrate on your natural breathing. Do not stop or push yourself to stop your thoughts; simply let them be.

  3. Consume nutritious, home-cooked meals, and avoid junk food.

  4. Drink plenty of water.

  5. Also, practice spending quality time with your friends and family.

  6. Spend time practicing creative hobbies such as reading good books, journaling, painting, sketching, and acquiring new skills, languages, or musical instruments.

  7. Get 7 to 8 hours of sleep every day.

  8. Avoid using tobacco, alcohol, or any other substance.

  9. Do not just spend your life; try living it.

  10. Be assertive and self-assured.

  11. Prioritize your marriage, not the problem. Make it memorable by enjoying it. Everything will be alright.

I hope this helps. Thank you.
