Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
My left ventricular systolic measurement in 2D echo is 22. The range shown is 25 to 42. Is it normal or anything to worry about? I had done echocardiography five years back, and the ejection fraction was 65 now, but it has been reduced to 60. All other values at that time were in range. A copy is attached. History of medical conditions: Taking antacids for the stomach, Thyronorm 12.5, and Ciplar-LA 40 twice for heart rate. Alprax .5 for anxiety. I was having Dapsone 100 for 10 days, and my oxygen level dropped to 90, and my heart rate increased. That is why I had done echocardiography. After stopping Dapsone, the oxygen level is now 96 to 99. Feeling tightness in the chest, some muscle pain in the upper chest near shoulders, and numbness in the chest, arms, hands, and feet. A deep breath is required after some time, but I can walk for 40 minutes with no problem. Please help.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern. The echocardiography results are perfectly normal. Light deep in ejection fraction is not of concern. It is best that you do an ECG (electrocardiography) in regard to tightness in the chest. Do you have a history of high blood pressure or diabetes? Do you have a history of peptic ulcer disease? Do you smoke? Have you ever been diagnosed with asthma? These are reasons that often cause chest pain.
Please revert so I can assist you further.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Thank you for your reply.
Thank you for your reply. I had done an ECG. That is normal. Chest X-ray is also normal. Sometimes, blood pressure, generally diastolic, goes up to 100. But generally in control. Around 15 years back, for 1 to 2 years, high blood pressure was there but is now under control. My pulse sometimes raises up to 150 while simply walking. Sometimes, 4 or 5 times, the pulse goes from 170 to 180 while simply sitting. Doctors said it is SVF. Bronchitis was diagnosed once 6 to 7 years back, and I used pumps for a month at that time. Is the value 22 normal, which was out of range, and can grade 1 diastolic dysfunction be reversible with exercise or some other things?
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Grade 1 diastolic dysfunction is pathological and does not pose any harm. What I advise in your situation is to take over-the-counter painkillers like Paracetamol. If after some days you do not get relief, consult with a general physician.
Thank you.
