Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I have a high heartbeat. My ECG is normal. I was under observation for three days and my highest heart beat per minute is 158. The doctor mentioned ventricular ectopic. So what does it mean?
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Thank you for writing and I understand your concern. Please mention whether it is the first time to have this increased heart rate. Ventricular ectopic is a type of arrhythmia. Please attach the ECG (electrocardiography) and 2-d echo (2D echocardiography) report so that I can see and give you advice on that. Please attach if any blood investigations are done. If anything else please let me know. Thank you.
Patient's Query
Thank you doctor,
I faced the problem for a week last year and now, I am facing this issue for two months.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Thank you for responding. I have gone through your reports (attachment removed to protect patient identity) and they are suggestive of ventricular ectopic and tachycardia. There are certain groups of medicines which can be prescribed but I will suggest you consult a cardiologist so they can give you better advice. If anything else please let me know. Thank you.
Patient's Query
Thank you doctor,
Will there be any problem? Because I am facing a high heartbeat every day. Will it affect my heart?
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Yes, it might affect the heart because the normal HR (heart rate) lies from 60 to 90 beats per minute. If you are having more than that, we call it tachycardia (when your heart rate is more than normal).

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
