Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My BP was 150/80 mm of Hg when I took the tablet Telmisartan 40 mg. The doctor prescribed Cilacar 5 mg. However, it had increased to 185/90 mm of Hg in the evening. I had a subconjunctival hemorrhage in my left eye.
So, I increased the dose of Cilacar to 10 mg. I am wondering if I should take an additional 40 mg of Telmisartan to maintain my blood pressure.
Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have read your query and can understand your concerns.
Regarding your concern, I would suggest increasing the dose of Cilnidipine and Telmisartan to 10 mg daily or increasing the dose of Telmisartan up to 80 mg daily. This will help keep your blood pressure under control.
I would also recommend performing some blood tests to investigate for any possible metabolic disorders. Please undergo the following tests. Complete blood count for anemia, thyroid hormone levels, blood electrolytes, kidney and liver function tests, chest X-ray study, and pulmonary function tests.
I hope this helps.
Please revert so I can assist you further.
Thank you.
