Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 26 year old male. I have severe itching and redness in the groin area. I have used over-the-counter creams, besides, I have also used some home remedies over the affected area. The skin is flaky. Please suggest a solution.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your query, and I have noted your concern.

Perhaps you might have a fungal infection. I request you to kindly upload an image so that I will be able to guide you better.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Unfortunately, I could not find the images. Kindly upload it again. Anyway, I will advise you on the appropriate treatment for it. I suggest you take capsule Canditral (Itraconazole) 100 mg, twice daily for four weeks, Lulifin (Luliconazole) 1% cream, twice daily for four weeks. Also, you may take tablet Teczine (Levocetirizine) 10 mg, once daily for a few days. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her and take the medicines with their consent.

Regards.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I have attached the images. I have used Dettol and apple cider vinegar. There is a temporary relief, but the condition is persistent.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I have viewed the images (attachment removed to protect patient identity). Yes, it is a fungal infection of the groin area - Tinea cruris. I suggest you use the medications that I suggested in my earlier reply. Avoid using Dettol or vinegar as they may irritate. Use an antifungal body wash like Dersil AF (Ketoconazole) body wash or soaps like KZ soap (Ketoconazole) or Ocona Z (Ketoconazole and Pyritinol) soap or Candid (Clotrimazole) soap.

    Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
