Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 28-year-old female. I have been having a decayed tooth and the pain is mild. I have tried different toothpastes and mouthwashes, but nothing seems to be working. Is there anything you can suggest to help me get a handle on this tooth decay? Are there specific oral hygiene practices that could address this issue more effectively? Please, can you guide me on what steps I should take to improve my oral health and put an end to this constant pain and worry?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

You are having mild pain. Your infection might have reached the pulpal zone area of the tooth, which is living, and because of this, you are facing slight pain. You should take your time and visit a good endodontist nearby. He will check clinically and radiographically if the infection has not reached the pulpal zone. He will place a cavity liner (pulp protection liner) layer and do the composite restoration (filling). If the infection has reached the pulpal zone, you must undergo root canal treatment (RCT). For your oral hygiene, follow a few instructions mentioned below.

  1. Go for regular dental checkups and scaling and polishing your teeth every 6 to 7 months.
  2. Brush your teeth twice a day.
  3. Whenever you eat anything, especially sweets, drink water as essential.
  4. If you see any black spots on your teeth, visit your dentist for restoration.

I hope this helps. Thank you.
