Hi doctor,
I am very worried regarding my recent appointment. I have been very neglectful over the last three years and am yet to go to the dentist. I have been informed I have very bad decay and will require fillings and potential tooth extraction. I have been advised to stop the sugar intake and to ensure I am flossing daily. I am a smoker. Is this something I need to cut out, and can I rectify the neglect as soon as possible?
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
I have gone through your question. First, if you are asking about smoking, I might tell you it is not a good habit. The second thing is that your oral health condition of cavities is not because of smoking but because you neglect to brush and eat sticky, sugary, and junk foods. If these foods remain in the mouth or between your teeth, the chances of caries increase by many folds. Now coming to your apprehension, there is nothing to worry about visiting a dentist. About your oral condition, you can upload a picture or two of all your teeth, and I will provide you better plan for every single tooth you want to restore so that you can imagine what a dentist needs to do with your oral cavity. My answer will help you, and visit us if you have further questions.
Regards.
