This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My 9-year-old fell and one of her permanent teeth is now wiggly. What can I do?

Answered by Dr. Tooba Qazi

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

If bleeding is persistent, give your kid cold packs of cotton on the tooth or make him eat ice-cream. If it is not suitable in this weather then put honey around the tooth.

Once bleeding is controlled, now start with saline water mouth rinses. Take a cup of lukewarm water, add a 1/4th teaspoon of salt in it and rinse with it. Do these rinses 6 to 8 times a day, it heals up gums and helps gums to grow and bind to the root margins of the tooth. If after a day tooth is still mobile and mobility is grade 3 (severe mobility), take him to the dentist immediately. Meanwhile, keep giving your kid Brufen syrup eight hourly, three times a day for three days.

It would be great if you can provide me with a video of mobility of tooth so that I can tell accurately will mobility be covered through rinses or splinting of the tooth by the dentist is required.
