Crooked, loose front tooth with gum pain. How to fix it?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My front tooth is going to fall out. It is very crooked and loose for about four to five years. Then, I started to have anxiety, and I am grinding my teeth bad. It got looser and looser for the past couple of years. Now, I have deep, sharp pains in my gums on that side. It hurts me a lot, and I have sensitivity in the tooth. The cold air coming from outside kills me. My head and right ear are also aching for the past couple of days. Please help me.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through the attachment (attachment removed to protect patient identity). You have mild inflammation in the gums. Your front teeth are not organized in the arch. Please send a front view of your anterior teeth. You need a clinical examination followed by a dental X-ray for estimating the bone level and the grade of tooth mobility. There is a possibility to save your tooth. You need oral prophylaxis, and you can have a flap surgery for grafting (after estimation if there is a bone loss). Avoid doing hard brushing.

Follow these oral hygiene instructions. Maintain your oral hygiene by cleaning your teeth and tongue properly. Brush your teeth two times a day with a soft toothbrush. You can rinse your mouth with warm water mixed with a pinch of salt, or you can use a good antiseptic mouthwash. These instructions help you to maintain oral hygiene. Consult your dentist soon for a clinical examination and treatment.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.
