Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 26 years old with a height of 160 cm and a weight of 70 kg. I have a hole in my tooth that has been there for almost two to three years. I had taken Ibuprofen and Prednisolone in the past, which subsided my pain. But now, the pain is consistent, and it has become severe. What to do?

Kindly give me a solution for this.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

Firstly, you must get treated with a filling for the hole in your tooth. Since you have pain, I suggest you to take an intra-oral radiograph and do a root canal treatment for the tooth. Only then your pain will subside. Also, I suggest you not to take Prednisolone (steroid) tablet since it is a steroid medication with a few side effects. It is better to take a course of antibiotics and do a root canal treatment as early as possible so the tooth can be saved. Since you are young, you need your natural teeth for a long time. I suggest you to take these medications mentioned below if you are not allergic to Penicillin (antibiotic),

1. Tablet Novamox LB (Amoxicillin and Lactic acid bacillus) 500 mg three times a day for three days.

2. Tablet Combiflam (Ibuprofen and Paracetamol) thrice a day for three days.

3. Tablet Flagyl (Metronidazole) 400 mg thrice daily for three days.

Please consult with a specialist, talk to them and take the medications with their consent.

I hope this has helped you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
