How to manage a toothache with swelling due to a cavity?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have an acute toothache with swelling due to particles inside the tooth cavity. I tried all types of painkillers, continuing for two days.

Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

You can visit a dentist at any age and get treatment there.

I suggest,

  1. Maintain oral hygiene properly and use mouthwash after brushing twice a day.
  2. Rinse mouth with salt water and turmeric mixture after meals twice a day.
  3. It is best to take any painkiller like Diclopara (Diclofenac and Paracetamol) or Zerodol SP (Aceclofenac, Paracetamol, and serratiopeptidase) for pain. Take one antibiotic capsule, Amoxicillin 500 mg, for three days after the meal. Consult your doctor and take the medicines accordingly.
  4. But please make sure you visit any dentist near you once for proper treatment.

      I hope this helps.

      Kind regards.
