How to control TSH levels that have gone off the range after taking 50 mg of Thyroxine?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi,

I have thyroid. I am taking 50 mg of Thyroxine. Today I tested my thyroid hormone. This shows the TSH level is 0.014 mU/L. Please suggest your opinion.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your query. Thanks for briefing me regarding the problem of concern. Your thyroid levels have gone off the range, and this is mainly because you are at higher doses of Thyroxine. Please bring down the dosage from 50 mcg a day to 25 mcg a day as soon as possible since your blood shows an excess of Thyroxine. Please get your thyroid profile tested once again after three months and see if they have come back to normal. Hope this answers your query. Do let us know regarding any further queries. Warm regards.
