Is CT abdomen and chest suggestive of Tb?

Hello doctor,
This question is about my 36-year-old brother. He was having a fever on and off since one month and lower back ache since last three days. We did his NCCT KUB to rule out stone but the radiologist saw pleural effusion and did a contrast CT abdomen and chest. The radiologist said it is suggestive of TB. Please look at the report and guide us. Also, tell if chances of lymphoma or any cancer.

Sorry to hear about your brother's symptoms. I have checked the attached reports thoroughly (attachment removed to protect patient identity), the pleural effusion and the enlarged lymph nodes could be due to many causes, although TB is the most likely diagnosis. In order to confirm the diagnosis, we need to take a sample from this effusion and analyze it.
Analysing the morning phlegm for TB bacteria is required. In case the diagnosis is confirmed, a combination of antibiotics is required for six months. In case the effusion increased and causes shortness of breath, removal of the fluid by a needle will be required. Lymphoma could be the cause, but less likely. Analysis of the effusion will confirm the diagnosis.
