Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I suffer from migraines. My eardrum has a hole, and I have had a viral attack. I had a tympanoplasty in my ear and am now experiencing severe dizziness in my head. Please advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

I would appreciate more information about your symptoms:

1. How long have you had migraine headaches? When did you first notice you were dizzy?

2. Describe how you felt throughout the dizzy episode:

  1. Is it the sensation of your surroundings swirling around you?

  2. Is it a sensation of yourself or your head rotating?

  3. Is it a sense of approaching doom accompanied by accelerated heart rate and quick breathing?

  4. Did you notice any blurring of your eyesight during the episode?

  5. Did you notice any blackening in your eyes during the episode?

3. Where in your head do you feel the headache? Where did it all begin? Is it just seen behind the left eye?

4. What type of headache is this: heaviness, throbbing, stretching, bursting, shooting pain, electric current pain, or anything else?

5. How severe, moderate, or light is it?

6. Is the headache episodic? Or tenacious? Or even a constant headache? If the headache is episodic, how long does one episode persist (from beginning to complete relief without medication)?

7. How often were these headache episodes before and after using medicines? How many times each week, for example?

8. Do you experience any vomiting or the sensation of vomiting, wet eyes, redness in your eyes, or nasal congestion during your headache?

9. Have you identified any potential triggers for this headache?

10. How are you sleeping?

11. How is your mood today?

Thank you and take care.
